Say goodbye to your neighbour with this plant.
Acmena smithii is also known as the Common Lilly Pilly, but there’s nothing ‘common’ about Acmena smithii – other than its popularity!
This is a shapely, densely foliaged evergreen tree, bearing shiny dark-red new growth that matures into rich, dark green leaves.
During summer masses of white, fluffy, staminate flowers are produced which are followed by deep mauve edible berries. Wildlife goes crazy for this plant, so if you want a nature-friendly garden get stocked up.
Acmena Smithii is a perfect choice if you need a fast-growing thick hedge or green screen. It blocks out neighbours, traffic noise, and wind and asks for nothing in return. It’ll survive droughts once established and has a light frost tolerance.
If you’re planning to plant a hedge, read our blog on creating a hedge.
Please note unfortunately due to biosecurity regulations we cannot ship this product to South Australia
