Hedge Gardenia Augusta Golden Magic

Gardenia augusta Golden Magic is adorned with exquisitely perfumed, double, white flowers in Spring, Summer and into Autumn. The blooms begin as pure white, then turn to a buttery yellow, and finally gold. An evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green leaves it can be used in gardens, for hedging or as feature plants – it’s a true head turner.

Augusta Golden Magic is a total stunner and if you like yellow tones will suit you down to the ground.

This beauty loves sun to filtered sun and slightly acid soils, but if the leaves start to yellow it means the soil is deficient in minerals that gardenias need.

It’s a simple fix of applying Epsom salts or chelated iron onto the roots. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and those deep glossy green tones will soon return.

• What to use me for: I’m a feature plant in the garden and make an attractive flowering hedge. Wildlife adores my nectar and I’m evergreen for winter interest.
• I grow to: I’ll reach 1.5 metres tall and 1.2 metres wide.
• Where to place me:  I like full sun to part shade.
• How far to space me:  If you’re making a hedge I need 80cms otherwise 1 metre, please.
• Soil Conditions:  I like moist, but well-drained slightly acidic soil. ph should be 5.5-6.5
