Gardenia augusta Magnifica is truly a magnificent plant. A tall growing, evergreen shrub with large, glossy, deep-green leaves producing a proliferation of large, double, white, heavily perfumed flowers during Spring and Summer. If you’re looking for large gardenia then this is the girl for you.
It is excellent for use as a formal or informal hedge, for screening, or simply as a stand-out feature plant for your garden or large container. Mass planted it creates a knock-out scent. Can be kept hedged to 2m.
Gardenia Augusta Magnifica is a queen amongst gardenias.
She’s a knockout formal or informal hedge that’ll reach three metres, and as a stand-out feature plant in the border or a container can’t be beaten.
This beauty loves sun to filtered sun and slightly acid soils, but if the leaves start to yellow it means the soil is deficient in minerals that gardenias need.
It’s a simple fix of applying Epsom salts or chelated iron onto the roots. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and those deep glossy green tones will soon return.
