Gardenia augusta Lacey Lady has glossy, dark green leaves that create a perfect backdrop for the stunning, double, ivory-white, perfumed flowers that absolutely cover this plant. The flower colour deepens to a rich cream colour as it ages.

Lovers of blooms and scent can’t go wrong with Lacey Lady as a hedge, and she also looks great in a container.

Try tying your garden together with a Lacey Lady hedge line and several specimens in the border and on the patio – a feast of Lacey Ladies and a heady perfume that lasts all summer is hard to beat.

This beauty loves sun to filtered sun and slightly acid soils, but if the leaves start to yellow it means the soil is deficient in minerals that gardenias need.

It’s a simple fix of applying Epsom salts or chelated iron onto the roots. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and those deep glossy green tones will soon return.
