Syzygium Australe Bush Christmas
This dense, compact Lilly Pilly is named Bush Christmas because you can bring it inside for a short while to decorate your home for the festive season. Make sure you put it back out again as soon as you can!
The Christmas Lilly Pilly has rich, dark green leaves that are small and fine with flushes of copper-coloured new growth. In spring fluffy, white flowers appear and turn into red berries for summertime.
This is a great Syzygium for topiary, in a pot on the deck, or to create a textured neighbour-proof fence. It tolerates light frost and drought once established.
You can prune this festive beauty down to one metre for a manageable yearly Christmas decoration, or let it reach three metres outside so the birds can enjoy some dense winter shelter.
