Viburnum Odoratissimum Emerald Jewel
Living up to its name this Viburnum is lustrous dark green with jewel-like leathery foliage.
This evergreen is best used for screening. It produces pretty little white tubular flowers in Spring followed by bird-friendly red berries. If you like wildlife this is popular with pollinators and birds.
Viburnum Emerald Jewel has an upright habit and is happy to be hedged. It makes a great specimen in a pot on the deck where it breaks up the bleakness of patio slabs.
If you’re looking for a hardy, low-maintenance flowering evergreen for the garden this is a good bet. It rarely lets you down and requires minimal care for maximum effect.
