Chamaedorea elegans also known as Parlor Palms are very popular because they can tolerate less than ideal conditions, in fact they love a bit of neglect.
These beautiful plants hold up luscious green fronds on clusters of delicate looking woody stems. The green fronds are long-fingered and textured bringing colour and movement to your indoor space or border. It’s hardly any wonder these are so popular.
They will grow to a metre high over time. When they are smaller they look fresh on a tabletop or sideboard and as they grow larger you can move them to the floor. If you want your palm to grow bigger, re-pot him regularly and feed him with a good quality fertiliser.
They need little attention tolerating both bright conditions and low light – they also don’t really like much water, so if you tend to kill your houseplant through neglect a parlor palm is for you. If you’re worried about indoor plant care read our guide and rest easy.
Cut off brown dead fronds but resist shaping the living ones because they only have one point of growth. If you chop it, then the palm can’t grow.
This is a great value 8 pack of Parlor Palms.
