Amethyst™ Liriope muscari ‘LIRTP’ 

Liriope muscari Amethyst is a compact purple flowering Liriope.

Liriope are grass-like clumps of deep glossy green, strappy foliage. This foliage is pretty enough in its own right but just wait for the flower spikes!

They shoot through in dark purple upright arrows during late Spring to early Summer and last literally ages.  

Muscari is the perfect edging plant for a border that gets some shade and looks stunning mass planted under taller trees. 

If you’ve got a few spare pots Amethyst will come back each year and fill them to the brim. She can withstand extreme cold, frost, and drought in tropical and coastal locations.

Low care, pretty foliage and a tough nature mean everyone should have Liriope. Best of all they come in different colours – why not team Amethyst with Big Blue, Munroe White and Pink Pearl for a riot of colour? 

Quick Facts: 

• What to use me for: I look the best mass planted in the border or in containers – the more the merrier! Plant me April to October for a flower display in the early year.
• I grow to: I’ll reach 25cms by 25cms
• Where to place me: Full sun to full shade – I’m so tough I can grow in most conditions.
• How far to space me: Plant 10-16 of us per metre squared.
• Soil Conditions: Anything except waterlogged soil is good with me.
