Commonly known as “Firebug”, this perennial tropical plant is grown for it’s attractive rich purple foliage. The brilliance of the foliage colour is intensified when grown in full sun. Alternanthera dentata ‘Firebug’ is an excellent hedging plant, responding well to regular pruning. We suggest you plant this as a foliage contrast, perhaps as a border plant grown in front of our Duranta repens ‘Geisha Girl’ or Gardenia ‘Professor Pucci’.
