Festuca Glauca
It’s not all about the flowers. A really great garden will contain colour, structure and texture. Lucky for you, Festuca Glauca brings all three.
This is a fast-growing, very hardy and long-lived ornamental grass that’s ideal for landscaping. He’s an unusual blue-toned grass that grows in a small tufted hill of fine slender leaves.
Festuca is best mass-planted and if you pop enough in your border or rockery he will become reminiscent of the sea with that blue shading and free-flowing movements. He enjoys container life and encourages your flowering annuals to even appear even more vibrant in the border.
Festuca Glauca is a perennial grass which means he dies down over the winter before coming back bigger and better when the weather warms up.
We can’t praise this ornamental grass enough. We shouldn’t have favourites, but it’s difficult not to love this one when he works so hard and needs very little in return. Just water regularly until established and give him a good feed in spring.
