Dichondra repens is commonly known as “Kidney Plant”. An ideal ground cover or lawn substitute with lush, dark green, kidney-shaped leaves. Growing readily in most climates it creates a tight, carpeting effect. Try planting it between pavers or as a great option for steep banks and other inaccessible areas. As long as it is kept moist, Dichondra repens tolerates fairly harsh conditions. It has proven to be extremely successful in plantings in inner-city Sydney, even tolerating the ever-present motor vehicle pollution and constant exposure to high wind-tunnel effect.
