If you are chasing the beautiful elegant silver foliaged tree that will produce masses of fruit, the Helena Heritage Olive is the variety for you. Not only does it bare fruit that creates award-winning olive oil it also has an interesting history. It is ideally suited to the Brisbane and South East Queensland climate which is where it all began for this little tree. The first olive tree of its type was brought from Europe to the small convict island of St Helena off Brisbane in 1800 and has continued to thrive even in the most unlikely coastal conditions. The fruiting of the trees back in the 1800s was so successful they shipped the olives back to Italy!
