We all need decent ground cover. In summer it stops the soil from drying out and in winter it prevents soil being washed away.

Hemigraphis Exotica is better known as the Purple Waffle Plant. She’s a shade-loving ground cover with dark purple and green waffle-textured leaves. In summer she’ll grow lovely little white flowers that contrast beautifully with the shiny purple foliage. Nature is the ultimate decorator.

The Purple Waffle plant is a perennial that will die back in the cold months and re-grow bright and fresh as the weather turns.

She likes a shady area and makes a good choice for under-planting trees, hedges and shrubs. Choose a sheltered location with partial to full shade and organic-rich, well-drained soil.
