Jasmine Chinese Emperor
Here’s an unusual jasmine for you – The Chinese Emperor.
Out of all the jasmines this one has the most intoxicating aroma. It’s highly sought after and you soon see why.
The warmer months bring attractive clusters of small white beads that open to reveal thick doubled creamy white petals that are similar in pattern to the English rose.
The Emperor is ideal as a feature plant, and looks out-of-this-world mass-planted along a fence line. You can also put him in a container with trellis and bring the wow factor to a drab decking as he’s quite bushy.
Absolutely divine doesn’t mean a fussy pain though. This is a pretty hardy plant that doesn’t need lots of attention.
Just make sure you plant him in fertile soil that’s out of winds and frost pockets. Use a good quality fertiliser each year and he’ll do the rest in spectacular style.
