Pandorea pandorana Ruby Belle is quite a posh name, so she’s often called the wonga-wonga vine.
Ruby Belle is a fast growing native vine that grows in most of Australia. She has shiny-green dense foliage and produces clusters of bell-shaped flowers that range from red and pink through to cream and brown.
This is a good screening choice because she grows strongly and thickly – not to mention the bees and butterflies love those little bells.
Plant Ruby Belle under your fence or next to a shed and stand back as she covers it. You can also use her as creeping vine on the ground to break up a patio edge or even send her up a tree.
The bigger she gets the more spectacular she looks, so let her go for it if you have room. She’s tough enough to tolerate frost and benefits from a soaking if the weather is dry.
