Sansevieria Dwarf. This cutie is also known as the dwarf snake plant or dwarf mother-in-law’s tongue, but these are unfair names for what is actually a lovely little indoor plant with plenty of character. Throw those prejudices aside and think about taking some home.
This is a succulent (read about succulents here) that grows with stiff and wide white-striped leaves. It’s a perfect office desk plant, and dare we say well-suited to the gents because it isn’t too flowery.
To keep this little one alive you’ll need to hold off on the watering because it enjoys a dry life and plenty of neglect.
It will need some sunlight to look its best but copes with low-light areas too. A bit of wiping down now and then keeps the dust off and the stripes shiny – but really that’s it. See? All that character for so little in return.
Still feeling unsure? Read our guide to indoor plants and boost your confidence – the Sansevieria Dwarf is a great plant to start out your growing journey and they make unusual gifts too.
